 James' Picks for Best Rollercoasters

As of now I have ridden 120 different rollercoasters.  These are my favorites...

    Steel Rollercoasters

#1 Fire Dragon - Islands of Adventure

This has to be the most intense inverted roller coaster I have ever been on.  The pacing is wonderful and doesn't let up from beginning to end.  Add in the "duel" effect with Ice Dragon and you have one hell of a good ride.

#2 Millennium Force - Cedar Point

America's tallest and fastest rollercoaster, this ride definitely hauls some ass.  The first drop is insane and the speed hardly wears off before the train hits the final breaks.  Airtime is abundant and there is no way you can beat the view from the top!

#3 Kumba - Busch Gardens Tampa

Another masterpiece by B&M, this coaster has some of the best forces of any ride.  The range is simply amazing between the positive g's in the helix and the negative g's of the camelback.  This one was my favorite long before the first two came around.

    Wooden Rollercoasters

 #1 Legend - Holiday World

This ride is not just my favorite wooden coaster, but also my overall number one.  No words can describe the insane, out of control feeling you get riding this fine craftsmanship of wood.  It gives me shivers just to think about the reaction of "wood coasters should NOT do this" that I get when I ride.

 #2 Shivering Timbers - MI's Adventure

This ride does NOT belong in the park it's at...plain and simple.  Perhaps that is part of the reason why it appeals to me so much.  That, and the amazingly insane amount of airtime it has.  I don't think I have ridden another coaster with as much airtime as Timbers has.

 #3 Raven - Holiday World

If it weren't for the other two on this list, this ride would easily sit as my number one wooden coaster.  It may be just a tad bit short, but it sure as hell doesn't let up.  The feeling of all hell breaking loose after the fifth drop is unparalleled.  And then there are night rides on this beast...
